Final Blog Post Reflection

Hey guys. Welcome back. Today, I want to talk about my time at CT101 over the semester. When I signed up for this class, I didn’t know what to expect. If you had told me that this class was stress-free with no exams, then I would have said that you were crazy because I have never experienced any classes that do not have any exams whatsoever. I’m happy to say that this class has managed to prove me wrong.

I’ll start at the beginning. On my first day of class, I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t know whether or not the class was going to be easy or difficult. Once the professor explained to his class what the class was about, then I started to relax and enjoy my time. While taking this class, I learned some skills that I’ll hopefully be able to carry on in the future.

One of those skills was how to create memes. I saw memes several times, but I had no idea how to create them. Once I learned, then I incorporated some memes of my own that I will show below.

I was able to create those memes by using Adobe PhotoShop. What I did is I found some images on Google and I used PhotoShop to edit a text into that same image. Therefore, the images above are my memes.

I learned how to create GIFs also using Photoshop. First, I chose a photo and I used PhotoShop to alter it into different colors and filters. (Yes, I chose Sonic the Hedgehog.)

Then, I collaborated these pictures together to create a GIF which you can see down below.

Finally, I uploaded the GIF to GIPHY which you can check out by clicking on the link. I created this GIF to contribute to GIF the Portrait Project that we did in class two months ago. I really enjoyed creating this project because it helped me to test more of my skills through PhotoShop and I got to play around with the photo I have chosen to make it more unique.

As the semester continued, I learned how to create my own website. I was a little nervous at first because I had no idea how to even create a website, let alone make my own. But as the professor was giving instructions, I felt more comfortable and I created my own website, where I have continued to post blogs. On my website, I post blogs from class and random stuff. I still go back and forth with posting blogs on the CT101 website and my website.

As the semester was coming to a close, we created a ZINE project, which you can see down below.

Even though it was challenging for me to think of what to create at first, I managed to find two perfect images to add to the collaboration of the ZINE project. I worked on some of it in class using Photoshop while I did the rest of the project at home by using Pixlr.

I enjoyed being in this class this semester because it helped me to relax from one of the stressful semesters I have ever been through. It also gave me a chance to express my feelings through digital storytelling. I have been going through anxiety and depression for almost 5 years and I had trouble expressing my feelings. But I feel like this class has helped me to express my true feelings and it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I don’t know whether or not I will keep this website open, but I hope the answer will be yes. The grade I expect to receive is an A because even though this semester has been rough through my other classes, I somehow managed to not fall behind.

I’m really glad I took this class and I hope to continue blogging through the future, depending on whether or not my life will be hectic because life is unpredictable. So, thanks for reading this blog post and I hope that the rest of you had a successful semester. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year! Here’s to 2020, everyone!
